Well, look no further than Proctors Theater in Schenectady to support local mermaid and all-star hair stylist, Pinup Jordan, by attending the viewing party for the new TV show she’s on, ‘The Look: All Stars,’ airing on the CW Network this Sunday, June 24.

(That’s Channel 43 for us Capital Region all-stars, but check your local listings just in case), and supporting a good cause at the same time.

Basically, the skinny is that Pinup Jordan was invited compete on ‘The Look : All Stars’ (her third reality show, btw), where she and a team composed of other all stars (think: make up, nail, and fashion gurus) worked their industry magic to create the look.

I’m surprised Jordan didn’t tap our own local fashionista as a teammate, but maybe the other all stars in L.A., and the show’s host Tori Spelling, weren’t ready to go two buttons deep just yet.

Here’s an idea: Smash Mouth should go two buttons deep with our very own All Star at their Empire State Plaza show later this summer… to be continued…

This show bills itself as, “the place where makeover dreams come true,” – peep the promo below:

If being invited to compete wasn’t cool enough, Jordan’s on the premiere episode, so watch out, world, because it’s all downhill from here for the rest of the competition.

Despite her wide-reaching fame in the hair world, jet-setting to insider industry events, backstaging it at fashion shows, and making the world a more colorful place one mermaid at the time, Jordan is not only my homegirl, agreeing to beautify my mop every six weeks, but a hometown girl at heart, born and raised in Schenectady.

Ultimately, she decided to celebrate her newest adventure with a viewing party-turned fundraiser to support an organization that’s near and dear to her heart: The YWCA of the Greater Capital Region.

Who wants to see their name in lights when they can see it on a ticket stub, amirite?

Tickets are $25, available through Proctors.org, and will buy you an evening of snacks that are more carnival chic than your typical pre-theatre fare, think: boozy rainbow snow cones (six flavors, people!), cotton candy, mini corn dogs, pretzels and cheese, and serving up those mozzarella sticks with upstate’s pride and true dipper: raspberry melba sauce!

And what’s a show without some good old fashioned popcorn? Jordan has a popcorn machine on loan, courtesy of Schenectady’s Courtyard Marriott at Mohawk Harbor (thanks, guys!)

Starting at 5:30pm, there will be the Fun House spread (aka light hors d’oeuvres), a cash bar, and a silent auction featuring items donated by local businesses and some pretty bedazzled hair flair from Pink Pewter, not to mention an opportunity mingle with Pinup Jordan and her Mermaids from the Mermaid Lounge.

At 7:00pm, the party moves inside the GE Theatre where viewers can watch Pinup Jordan and her team of make up artists and stylists take on their opponent to see who comes out on top!

It’s supposed to be a rainy weekend, so why not get wet and support our local mermaid, the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, tune in to lookout for Jordan’s trademark Lisa Frank hair, and watch Jordan do what she does best?

Will Pinup Jordan lead Team Silver to victory? There’s only one way to find out!

And for the record, I don’t know who’s the genius who assigned Jordan to Team Silver when she’s clearly Team Magenta, but they need to go.)
