Who Has the Most Annoying Radio Ads in the Capital Region: Billy Fuccillo, Guptill’s, or Fogg’s Automotive?

There’s a reason local radio is a statistically dying medium and it’s because it has become far more advertisements than entertainment. It’s tough to listen to especially because they jam pack the rush hours to get the most bang for their buck, but I get it.

And in order to make a successful ad, you need to stand out. I get that too. I took marketing classes, I know the game. But some local businesses make ads so cancerous to the ears it makes me want to swerve off the road just to make it stop. Let’s talk about ’em.

Fogg’s Automotive

Fogg’s has come out with this new campaign tied with a cartoon where they relentlessly play out some dumb flamboyant scenario of somebody being arrested for asking too much money on a down payment then some girl yells “THAT’S NOT WHAT FOGGS AUTOMOOOOOOTIVE SAID” followed by “it’s a CRIME to pay more than a DIME” which financially speaking, can’t be true…Regardless of their business tactics, these ads get under my skin enough to make me solemnly swear to never step foot in a Fogg’s Automotive dealership unless it’s the last one left in the state.

But I know that will never be the case due to their competition for the worst ad to listen to:

Billy Fuccillo

Billy Fuccillo is Upstate’s most notable mogul who owns a dealership in any town worthy of his name. This dude is swimming in cash and I’m sure it’s nice to be on his good side, but he could be Trump’s less successful cousin by the way he acts. Let’s not forget the time he humped his young women sidekick in a commercial and also said “I’ll fuck your wife” in another real commercial that his company voluntarily put on public airwaves.

Guptill’s Ice Cream

I’m no stranger to Guptills, in fact they currently hold the record for the best ice cream in my soft serve review tour. So actually I’m a big fan of the establishment. However, as I mentioned straight up in my review, I HATE their radio ads. I hate to see such great ice cream succumb to such ridiculous measures to attract patrons. They’re better than that. But a day doesn’t go by without that ridiculous man shouting through my speakers about the amount of super premium flavors Guptill’s has and how they’re the best ice cream in the area. It’s a very bold claim, especially since I haven’t finished my soft serve review tour yet.

So who do you think has the worse radio ads in the Albany area? Someone that I’m missing? I feel like I should be able to do polls on this blog but I just haven’t figured that out yet.

I also have to give an honorable mention to Destination Kia. They’re really racking up nerves with their “puppies and babies not included” as if ANYBODY wants their puppies or babies who don’t even know how to look at a camera!

Just kidding, I’d take that King Charles in a heartbeat.
