Target Hits the Mark By Introducing Same Day Delivery Service

Ah, as if the love for Target couldn’t possibly grow fonder in our hearts, the bright red retailer has introduced a same day delivery service via Shipt, which is basically Uber but for grocery delivery.

Now, you can shop online from the comfort of your own whatever, fill up a nice little basket and have a friendly human deliver it right to your door within just a few hours. Of course this is Target’s move to compete with the GOAT of the internet and maybe the GOAT of the world, Amazon, but hey, I’m here for a little friendly competition and making the best store ever even better.

Now, this service isn’t going to deliver you a new outfit or a Starbucks latte from the inside of the store, but it’s good for groceries and other household items like toiletries, pet food (under 40lb.), etc.

And to be honest, I’m kind of glad it can’t deliver clothes to me in the same day because that would be DANGEROUS, expensive and more importantly, it would take away from the in-store experience of being at Target. AKA the most perfect thing in the universe.

I don’t even want to bring up the fact that earlier this year, rumors were going around that Amazon actually wanted to buy Target, but since we haven’t heard any updates on that I’m just going to stay in my own little world where Target is superior and doesn’t need any help from Amazon or vice versa.

Overall: another good move by Target, and the even better news is that it appears this service is immediately available in our area, so we’re not in an Uber or Uber Eats scenario where it’s there for the masses and not for us little people here in the Capital Region.

So ready, set, shop people! You can met a new friend via Shipt who will help you with your grocery shopping and bring things to your doorstep in the same damn day. Love it.
