Friday night was 2BD’s debut booze cruise and first off, I owe an apology to my team. We planned this event just 3 weeks ago on a whim, and the team was all for it but I was very hesitant. If John wasn’t terrible at taking behind the scene video, he would have captured the very heated argument we had at our office about it which you would have seen. I was very anti-booze cruise, not because I’m anti booze cruise, but because I couldn’t imagine we’d get actually get people who like our website to pay money and come out on a probably freezing October night to ride on a boat.
I was wrong.
Not only did people come out, we sold out. And not only was it late October, but it was a beautiful crisp night which you could still bear sitting on the exposed deck or taking a Jack and Rose-esque picture at the point of the boat. We packed the Dutch Apple Cruise and for that I formally apologize to my team aka Taylor and John and Business Guy Joe Bo who had confidence this would work out. It did.
Not only did we sell out, but everyone was vibing and dancing the entire night. Maybe it was the free Nine Pin or Chatham Brewing everybody got while boarding the boat, maybe it was Xavier White’s killer performance, maybe it was DJ Hollywood’s jam factory, or maybe it was the fact we had a good group of people going all buttons deep in harmony, which after all is the foundation of our brand.
Anyways, we will definitely have more events soon because this was major fun, and best of all we raised $300+ for Street Soldiers, a grassroots organization around the Capital Region which sets up tables during cold nights to help feed and provide supplies to the homeless living in our region.
The squad recorded a live squadcast on the boat (with very questionable audio.)
John pitching his circle jerk enterprises beef jerky business. He brought an entire luggage full of jerky.
Legendary crew – DJ Hollyw8d, Xavier White, J Ríos
RICHIE. We need to hire this guy as our party starter. He is an absolute electric factory.
Doing our civic duty raising money for a GOOD cause. People got very generous towards the end of the night…
2BD founders. No I did not pee myself.
2BD fans (okay, maybe Xavier White fans)
Captain X is in the house
One thing I’m mad about? We didn’t get a group picture. I should have channeled my inner Mother and pushed for the group picture. I forgot, oh well.
There’s always next time.
